Orvieto is a beautiful hill town that is located in Central Italy and it sits majestically above the valley floor on top of a big bed of volcanic stone. It will take less than 90 minutes to reach this town from Rome. The best thing you notice when you step into this beautiful hill town is its traffic free environment. In addition to that, the town is highlighted by beautiful cathedrals and of course, it’s amazing quality wines.

The town of Orvieto is made of two distinct parts.  The first part is the old town hilltop while the second part is the dull new town below. There is an interesting conception behind this form of distinction.

Most of the travellers start their journey from the very bottom where all passengers step out of the trains and the drivers also leave their cars for free. Generally, travellers take elevators or escalators for reaching the medieval upper town one can also climb along with the locals to reach the top.

You need clime 250 steps if you want to reach on top of this magnificent tower in Orvieto. However, on reaching the top you will realize that your climb was worth it simply because of the breathtaking views. Many tourists say that the tower offers one of the best views in Italy.
