Italian Island Launches New Initiative to Manage Tourism in Rainy Weather

Travelling to the beach is not a cup of tea for many when the weather is dull and rainy. It’s just not the weather that fits well with the beach mood. Therefore, most tourists refrain from travelling to the beach sides when the weather is dull and gloomy. However, one Italian island has come up with a new initiative to attract tourists even in rainy weather.

It is not possible to control the weather as most of the times it does not match with the expectations of tourists when they visit Italy’s Elba Island. It is the largest island that is located on the coast of Tuscany and also the third largest island in Italy after the islands of Sicily and Sardinia.

Elba Island is also a popular tourist attraction but often due to the bad, rainy and gloomy weather tourists scrap their plans of visiting the island. The beautiful island consisting of the Mediterranean shores is also known for its rich history. It is known that French Emperor Napolean was exiled on this island.

The new initiative taken by the island enables tourists to get a refund for the entire month of May that they paid for staying in case it rained for more than two hours during the day.

It’s not a particular island that has joined the initiative but several hotels have joined hands to collaborate in this initiative. Having said that, Italy has seen an unusual spring this time and such frequent bad weathers, makes such a scheme worth a try, who knows, it might just end up working in your favor!

The Elba island has an unusual climate compared to the rest of the country, sudden weather changes make the weather forecasts quite unreliable.
