Way back in the month of June-July, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and UAE’s His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, announced about the opening of the first-of-a-kind Sheikh Zayed-Mahatma Gandhi museum by this year end.
Finally, the UAE’s Zayed-Gandhi Museum opened its door for the UAE residents and visitors on 4th December. It was unveiled in Abu Dhabi at Manarath Al Saadiyat. For the opening ceremony, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and India’s Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj jointly opened the museum that celebrates the 100th birth anniversary of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan and 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Zayed-Gandhi is a digital museum and is going to showcase the works and philosophies of the two great leaders with cutting-edge technologies. Moreover, visitors must visit this museum from March 2019 onwards as it would be remain closed from next week.
Fans of Gandhi as well as Zayed would be able to go through the interactive digital content that would be putting on display rare pictures, objects, and videos depicting the lives of the leaders.
Visitors who would be in Abu Dhabi during 2019 can visit the museum from 9 am to 8pm. Thereby, the museum can be a great place for the UAE residents who want to learn about great Indian freedom fighter and leader, Mahatma Gandhi.
